G. I. D’Souza Memorial Award

  • The donors of the Award: Dr. Gerard S. D’Souza, S/O G. I. D’Souza, 530 Cherokee Drive Morgantown, WV 26508, U.S.A.

  • Value of the Award: Prize money of the value of Rs. 6000/-in cash including all connected expenses with a Citation and a Momento.

  • Periodicity of the Award: The award shall be made once in two years.

  • Purpose of the Award:

  1. To create incentives for research workers in the field of Nematology to contain losses caused by plant parasitic nematodes.

  2. • The Award shall be made for a significant basis or applied research loading to result of practical importance in the field of Plant Nematology.

 

  • Administration of the Award:  Nematological Society of India shall have the sole right of selection of the recipient of the Award and of the formulation of rules governing such selections.

 

  • Eligibility for the Award: All research workers above the age of 55 years but below 70 years.

 

  • Procedure for Selection of Recipient

  1. The nomination will be invited by the Society for the award from the members of the Executive Committee of the Society.

  2. Nominations received will be screened by the General Secretary and will be finalized by the Executive Committee to be considered for the award, he/she shall not take part in the decision-making process. After the acceptance of a nomination by the majority in the Executive Committee, the award shall be announced.

 

  • Presentation of the Award: The awardee shall deliver a lecture at the biennial symposium/conference organized by the Society and one Page profile of the awardee along with the photograph shall be printed in the journal. The full text of the lecture of the awardee shall also be printed in the journal. The manuscript should not exceed 20 pages (typed in double space)
